Medical Business Services, located on the Aurora Medical Services Campus, is currently recruiting for an IT Technician to join our team. Medical Business Services is a medical management service organization that provides administrative, financial, medical billing and coding, health information management, marketing, inventory control, human resources and information technology services to hospitals, clinic, laboratories and outpatient surgery centers, among other healthcare facilities.


Duties of this position include:

  • Respond to IT questions from users and troubleshoot PC issues;
  • Install, test and maintain multiple PC server hardware and operating software;
  • Assist in the maintenance of backup, data recovery and integrity procedures;
  • Assist in the maintenance of recovery procedures and ensure server availability;
  • Set up and maintain users on the network with the appropriate user and file security;
  • Establish and maintain wireless connectivity for internal and external users;
  • Assist with configuration and support of Internet services;
  • Install and test new and updated PC client connectivity and application software;
  • Monitor system usage and performance, and maintain PC server accordingly;
  • Implement new PC server products;
  • Provide advice on PC server issues as needed;
  • Document and keep up to date on all system procedures;
  • Maintain an inventory and failure log of devices (PCs, servers, hand-held devices, phones, and PC connected devices and printers);
  • Coordinate repairs to information devices;
  • Install and upgrade applications and packages;
  • Configures, manages, and maintains MBS' managed company's file servers, storage, backup, and generator to ensure maximum network availability;
  • Assist in the maintenance of the physical and virtual server environment;
  • Monitors the health of the servers, virus protection, backup's and data center;
  • Serves as a technical resource in regards to the network when technical issues arise;
  • Maintains the integrity of the security of the network including password access, file access, intruder access, and protection against viruses and SPAM;
  • Performs user analysis, trouble shoots problems, and follows through to resolution;
  • Services departments throughout the MBS managed companies to trouble-shoot, repair, and maintain data equipment problems, including workstations, portable/laptop computers, scanners, monitors, printers, telephones, faxes, modems, and other peripherals;
  • Seeks out assistant and help from IT manager or director when additional help is needed;
  • Perform related duties as assigned;
