Medical Business Services, located on the Aurora Medical Services Campus, is currently recruiting for an IT Specialist to join our team. Medical Business Services is a medical management service organization that provides administrative, financial, medical billing and coding, health information management, marketing, inventory control, human resources and information technology services to hospitals, clinic, laboratories and outpatient surgery centers, among other healthcare facilities.


Duties of this position include:

  • Responsible for the efficient operation of all IT systems including: telecommunication, computers, servers, badge system, bio-terrorism and biomed equipment.
  • Responsible for the installation of software and hardware for employees.
  • Responsible for resolving IT problems that may arise and/or obtain outside resources that may be needed.
  • Responsible for assessing IT needs and requests of staff
  • Complete quality analysis of outside IT vendors and develop proposal contrast/compare options, including recommendations.
  • Serve as MBS' HIPAA Security Officer which includes: daily review of audit logs and electronic PHI, protection of patient health information (i.e. email, computer, electronic access).
  • Initiate actions and communicate with the appropriate Director any unusual situations.
  • Attend Work Team meetings to address and appropriately direct IT unit issues; utilize the Work Team meetings as the main avenue for problem solving.
  • Attend All-Staff meetings and participate as needed.
  • Serve on projects as delegated and coordinate projects offering leadership and management skills to staff.
