Center for Psychiatric Care, part of the Aurora Medical Services Campus, is currently recruiting for a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. Center for Psychiatric Care is an outpatient psychiatric clinic providing a full spectrum of psychiatric care in the region for more than fifteen years. Work with an outstanding multidisciplinary clinical team to provide psychiatric services to Children, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatric patients.


Duties of this position include:

  • Responsible for, along with licensed nursing staff, contributing to the ongoing process of assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Monitor patients and facilitates daily patient care and activities.
  • Provide therapeutic intervention to patients in regard to psychosocial, environmental, and physical well-being.
  • Identify significant changes in patient's condition and take appropriate actions, including identify problems, offering appropriate solutions, and alerting licensed nurse. 
  • Obtain and document all required and pertinent information accurately and within RPSPC time frames, including but not limited to, progress notes, communication log, 15-min and 5-min checks, group notes, incident reports etc.
  • Assist with patient care activities and services of a technical nature under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform personal care and comfort using the correct devices under the guidance of the nurse.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the location, set-up, and use of basic care equipment.
  • Observe patients' conditions, measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output and vital signs, and report changes to professional staff.
  • Feed patients who are unable to feed themselves.
  • Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
  • Provide patient care by supplying and emptying bed pans, applying dressings and supervising exercise routines.
  • Respond to emergency situations, assisting licensed nurses where needed, i.e. medical emergencies, elopements, fire, and storms.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and follows all RPSPC's infection control and safety policies
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff and clinicians in order to maintain patient care and safety
  • Participates in rotation of evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Perform related duties as required, including but limited to group facilitation
